Day three on our trip into Lac LaCroix we took off early in the morning in search of Warrior Hill and some vivid pictographs. We paddled across calm waters and under sunny skies. There were a couple of bald eagles chattering away in a tree nearby.
As we rounded the bend into the bay that Warrior Hill resides we encountered a little wind that made paddling a little more strenuous. The sun was still shining and getting to see Warrior Hill rise up in front of us was worth the the struggle against the wind. The Pictographs were abundant when we finally found the cliff face they resided on. The moose figures and hand prints were really something to see. Thinking about what it must have been like when they were placed on the rocks really makes you appreciate what their lives must have been like.

Another great production, Bill! Beautiful country, wonderful history! Keep ’em coming and I am starting to do my Northern Minnesota Snow Dance for you!
Is it just me or is the video missing?
Hi Voyageur North,
Yes the video was missing… Not sure what happened there. It has been added in. I hope you enjoy.
Thanks for watching,
Bill
Hi there,
I loved the video, the scenery is absolutely amazing. My husband and I moved to Lac La Croix in the fall and we have a school trip coming up next week to go see Warrior Hill and the pictographs. At first I was debating on going because I don’t always do well with boats, but after seeing your video I wouldn’t pass up this opportunity for anything. So thank you for the awesome video.
Hi Jennifer,
Great to hear you are heading out to Warrior Hill and the pictographs. It is a really fun trip to take. Let us know how things go when you get back.
Thanks for watching,
Bill
Great Pics of Home, as I am from LLCFN Thanks !!
sorry to tell you but it looks like you missed the date carved in the rock. I may be a teen but you could have gave the reason why it is called warrior hill. Also what the pictures mean. I have told those people when me and my dad shuttled people up their when he worked for Andersons outfitters.
Zachery Opsahl » We are not aware of a date carved in the rock. Where is this located? I believe we have mentioned the history behind warrior hill in a different episode. If not I’m not sure why it never made it into one of our shows. The next time we are in the area we will definitely mention it. What do you know about the meaning behind the pictures? We would love to learn more about them. Thanks for commenting. We appreciate the feedback. What do you think of the shows, are they fun to watch?
Thanks,
Bill
